June 28, 1887, Cumberland County, Illinois, Unis Pentecost Wilbert A Sedgwick b. abt 1869 Dermot Sedgwick b. abt 1876 Descendants of John B Weller Sedgwick still live in Coles County, Illinois, the neighboring county from which Cumberland was formed. Ethel Sedgwick only appears with the family in the 1870 census, about 8 years old. I believe that she married Freeman Light and appears as his new wife (less than 1 year) in 1880 Illinois, Cumberland, Cottonwood Township. In the entire 1880 census there is the only Ethel between ages 16 and 20 who is married. Dewit Clinton Sedgwick married Unis Pentecost [sic] at June 28, 1887

Jessie Beatrice Miller January 24, 1915, Clark County, Illinois. Weller had two sons we know of: Charles Leo Sedgwick b. 4/19/1926 who had son Charles Weller Sedgwick b 1958. (per Charles Weller Sedgwick) Owen Sedgwick who had daughter Barbara Sedgwick. (per Barbara Sedgwick) Wilbur D Sedgwick married Opal Lang 10 Oct 1899 at Clark County, Illinois. * According to the USGS Mapping Database there are two Washington Cemeteries near each other, one in Cumberland County, one in Clark County. |
