Hubert Merrill Sedgwick said in "A Sedgwick Genealogy" pg 139 that Stewart Dean died in Albany, but he also said that he died at the home of his son-in-law Roderick Sedgwick, and that Roderick moved to, New York in 1825. DAR data for Clara Sedgwick Dean (13494) and Mary Fitch Crowfoot (14558) both say that he died in, New York City.

Sedgwick, Martha S. Dean b. ca. 1790 d. 13 Mar 1850
In response to a "who is" query at genforum.genealogy.com/sedgwick
Anne W. Brown (Mrs. G. S.), Trustee, New York Marble Cemetery, Inc. responded thus:
She is Martha Stuart Dean or Margaret Stewart Dean, daughter of Stewart Dean & Margaret Whetten. Married 5 May 1814 Albany, Roderick Sedgwick; died 13 Mar 1850, age 60 yrs. Died 19 Ninth St. of typhus fever.
She then sent these two e-mail messages:
"Martha comes from the Sedgwick Genealogy; Margaret comes from the Cemetery's register. Given her mother's name, Margaret is more logical. The register says 59 yrs.old, the Sedg. Gen. has 60. Can you give me her birthday?"
"I hit the send button too soon. Our outside sources are both the 1961 Sedg.
Gen. and the NY Ev. Post death notice of 14 Mar 1850."
Note that the same confusion exists with the name of their daughter Margaret, see notes for her.
