My James M Johnston was probably born in Estil Co., Kentucky about 1805. He married Lucinda Stepp first in Indiana and second Mary (unknown) Sedgewick, widow of William Henry Sedgewick. This family along with James' brother John moved from Indiana down into Polk and Dallas Counties, Mo in about 1840.Have not been able to find parents for James M. and John. They could be sons of Alexander Johnston listed in the Estil Co., Kentucky census in 1810.
