"...died Sep. 12, 1874 in Winchester, W. Va. ...he was made an assistant in the National Cemetery in West Virginia at $900.00 a year. Here he died and was buried." However, there is a National Cemetery at Winchester, Virginia, not West Virginia, and I find no record of his burial at any National Cemetery in either state.
