I am reasonably sure these are all the same family,
despite the differences in some of the data.
The similarities are too strong to ignore.

According to his obituaries he also served in the Florida Indian Wars.

The Antigo City Cemetery, Antigo, Langlade, Wisconsin, has a "Soldiers' Circle" where Civil War veterans are buried "in the middle of the cemetery near the entrance." Samuel T Sedgwick is buried in this place of honor. His tombstone bears this inscription:

S. T. Sedgwick

G.A.R.

Jonathan Close died during the Civil War (He died of disease on 5/14/1862 at Corinth, MS.);
his widow Amanda was awarded a widow's pension in 1863 (possibly reads 1865), and married Samuel Sedgwick in 1870. Samuel's obituaries state that he and Amanda Close were married on June 19, 1869, but I have discounted that because the record of marriage has been found and because at the 1870 census her name was given as "Close." Charles H Close, apparently a son, also served; in 1888 Amanda Sedgwick was awarded a mother's pension on his record. I have never been able to find Jonathan and Amanda Close in the 1860 census.

Here are Jonathan and Amanda Close in the 1850 census:
