Irving Norman apparently started to use the spelling Erving in his older years. His name is spelled Irvin in the 1860 census, Irving W Norman on the marriage record and Irving in the 1880 census. In the 1900 census it looks more like Ernest than anything else, and apparently he is listed as Erving L Norman in an obituary. More details as they surface.
