One of the really cool things about Elijah Sedgwick is that in April of 1854 he was interviewed by George Sedgwick, the original genealogist of the Robert Sedgwick family. (1935 Manuscript page 88) George kept his notes in a handwritten book. Francis Morris Sedgwick borrowed the book in 1934 and transcribed the data, which is now included in the Sedgwick Collection of the New Haven Colony Historical Society. Elijah identified his mother as the daughter of Beriah Higgins and Desire Cooke, both Mayflower descendants.
