![]() Census records: Richard Sedgwick and Gertrude Minnie Cutts were married December 26, 1908 at St. Andrews Church, Nottingham. On the Marriage Certificate his occupation is listed as Fish Salesman and address as 35 Heskey St, Nottinghamm. Richard (age 27), Gertrude (age 28) and Thomas Willliam Sedgwick (age 3) arrived at Ellis Island, New York September 5, 1913 aboard the ship Mauretania5. AKA William Sedgwick, Bill Sedgwick b. January 22, 1910, Nottingham, England1,3,7 d. August 3, 1992, [Salem], Marion, Oregon7 m. Lois Muth Belzner7 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Richard had a brother William Harry Sedgwick, christened the same date as he, June 21, 1893 Sneinton, Nottingham. When Richard and Gertrude immigrated, brother William was already here. It seems possible that the William Sedgwick in the 1920 census Brooklyn ED 641, 451 Prospect Place, may be this brother. From records I have seen at Ancestry.com, it appears that William Harry Sedgwick was born May 12, 1882 in Nottingham, England, and died February 8, 1972 at Saint Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida. |
