I had found Richard Sedgwick in the census records and posted a little data about him here. Nicky Cunnungham then found his birth and marriage records and the records of his children's births and his wife's death.

Son Richard said in the census of 1900 Wisconsin, Waukesha, Merton that he had immigrated in 1853, but he was here for the 1850 census.
