The bible printed in 1816 has "Ninian McBee's Book, Harper's Ferry, Jefferson County, Virginia and Ann McBee her Book ? ? Harpers Ferry, Jefferson County, Virginia." Birth records from the bible. 1.Ann McBee born 10 September 1816 at Harpers Ferry, VA. 2. Lloyd McBee born 3 February of 1819. Note: After the death of her husband, Ninian McBee, Maria Sedwick as Mersey McBee married James Cope in Jefferson County, VA in 1829. Also, recorded in the bible is the birth of their daughter Elizabeth Cope 28 August 1830 and christened 16 October. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Watkins Family of Montgomery County, Maryland (Included in genealogical Records District of Columbia, Volume 5-1930-1932. Compiled by Mrs. Elmer E. Curry, State Chairman.) "Thomas Sedgwick, b. Oct. 16, 1774. Delilah (Watkins) his wife b. Nov. 23, 1796. Jarusa Ann, daughter of Thomas Sedgwick and wife, Deliah, b. December 27, 1828. Elizabeth Emily Sedgwick, b. July 25, 1828. Emmanuel Thomas Sedgwick, B. March 21, 1835." Note: I cannot prove the above Thomas was the son of William Sedwick of Montgomery County, Maryland or that Thomas married a second time. The date of his birth would indicate he was the oldest son of William Sedwick. Because the Watkins family resided in Montgomery County, Maryland it is likely this was a second marriage for Thomas son of William. Una A. Bowman
