Sedgwick.org note:

Goodwin listed 12 children, and many references have accepted this without question, but all the Sedgwick Genealogists have refuted it. This person in Goodwin's list: "14 William, born June 29, 1707" is the same person as William (1693 - 1771) the son of 2. Jonathon Sedgwick above. For an explanation, see The Sedgwick Collection at the New Haven Colony Historical Society, Box 6 Folder D, Sheet 5 and the few sheets preceeding it.
