Census records:

My first exposure to this family was dicovering them in the 1860 census. I subsequently found them in the Broderbund WFT Vol 2 Pedigree 5677, and in a tree at Ancestry.com. Their marriage record appears at Rootsweb. Except for the census and marriage record, all the data I have here is from those trees and unconfirmed by me.

The probate papers pertaining to Joseph Sedgwick's estate are in Box 101 of the Old Estate Files at the Jo Daviess County Circuit Clerks Office. (I have not seen them.) A list of names of the probated estates of that county about 1828 to 1915 is here.

Children:

Daniel Arnott, is listed in the 1860 census as Daniel Sedgwick. I cannot find any other record of him, so I wonder if he died before 1870.

It is said that David Sedgwick, b 1854, died in 1911 and is buried at Agricola Cemetery, Agricola, Coffey, Kansas

There is apparently a record of a christening for Sarah Sedgwick in 1856 at Asbury Church, Council Hill, Illinois. However, she must have died in infancy, as she does not appear in the 1860 census.

Joseph Sedgwick married April 15, 1886 Sarah Frances Thoroman (b. June 10, 1864 d. April 21, 1921).
