I am told that by family members that the Charles Frederick Sedgwick who was the son of Richard Sedgwick and Elizabeth Gingell is the same man who married Susan N Conley. Richard and Elizabeth were married November 29, 1822 at Newington, Surrey, England, St. Mary's Church, Church of England. (FHL British Film 307699, records of said church.)

Charles served in the Union Navy during the Civil War, on the U.S.S. Unadilla and the Philadelphia.

One Charles Sedgwick, mechanic, age 27 arrived at New York September 10, 1860 aboard the ship Manchester. Is it possible that this is him?
