Frederick Sedgwick was born in 1857 at Bradford, Yorkshire, England. He was the son of Richard Meriton Sedgwick, possibly born in 1808 in Darlington, Durham, England. We are not sure when Frederick immigrated to Australia, but it had to be before 1893.
